ATLAS, Lake Walk Town Center Announce Opening of MatureWell Lifestyle Center

(BRYAN, Texas) – ATLAS – the premier corporate campus in the Brazos Valley – and Lake Walk, the new town center featuring lifestyle and outdoor pursuits, announce the opening of the CHI St. Joseph Health’s MatureWell Lifestyle Center, a health and wellness center devoted to seniors.

The center, in partnership with Texas A&M University Health Science Center, is a new concept in healthcare, offering a single destination for adults 55 and older to access a variety of healthcare services under one roof.

The CHI St. Joseph Health MatureWell Lifestyle Center will offer seniors a comprehensive location where they can achieve their health and wellness goals, manage illnesses and treatments through the help of a specialized physician, and take advantage of social and educational opportunities designed exclusively for them. The Center will include:

  • Two board-certified physicians specially trained to meet the unique healthcare needs of older adults. They specialize in preventing, managing and developing care plans that address the special health problems of adults 55 and over.

  • Medication Management from our onsite experts.

  • Rehabilitation Services with physical, occupational and speech therapists in an outpatient setting.

  • Health and Wellness Coaching providing customized wellness plans.

  • A gym and indoor pool, offering state-of-the-art equipment, fitness classes and personalized exercise plans.

  • A cooking program with emphasis on healthy cooking, as well as nutrition education.

  • Education on disease and lifestyle management through a partnership with Texas A&M School of Public Health.

Through the partnership with Texas A&M Health Science Center, the MatureWell Lifestyle Center will also provide a forum for research to improve and advance unique healthcare techniques for our older population. These efforts will utilize a team approach through interdisciplinary experiences at Texas A&M.

Growing older is all about enduring life changing events that question our age and stage of life. MatureWell is designed to be a valuable resource to our area seniors as they encounter new stages of life.

“When we began thinking about MatureWell, it started with the fact that the Brazos Valley is forecasted to grow significantly in the 55 and older age category,” says Donovan French, Vice President for Strategy and Business Development, CHI St. Joseph Health. “This group of adults is growing five times faster than all others combined, so the unique concept of the MatureWell Lifestyle Center will radically change the way older adults can achieve their wellness and lifestyle goals, as well as managing their everyday health.”

Situated near the Traditions community and ATLAS corporate campus, a growing area of Bryan/College Station, the MatureWell Lifestyle Center is located within the new Lake Walk development and near the Parc at Traditions. Lake Walk also includes The Stella Hotel, and shops, restaurants and other lifestyle amenities are set to follow.

“We are pleased to have MatureWell Lifestyle Center part of ATLAS and the Lake Walk development,” said Spencer Clements, Principal, ATLAS and Traditions Development. “The facility is uniquely positioned to collaborate with partners like Parc Communities and the Texas A&M Health Science Center in areas that directly impact the lives of senior populations, including lifestyle and wellness programming, education, research and care delivery.”
